1st Quarter:

Both teams' opening drives ended in punts. On the Broncos 2nd possession, QB Jake Plummer was sacked for an 11 yd loss and fumbled. The ball was recovered by Denver G Cooper Carlisle at their own 13 yd line. The Broncos then punted the ball away.
On San Diego's ensuing drive, the Chargers drove 24 yds and were faced with a 4th and 13 at the Denver 32 yd line. They went for it but the receiver was stoppped short of the 1st down by Broncos CB Champ Bailey. Both teams went 3 and out to finish out the 1st quarter.

2nd Quarter:

The ball was downed at the 4 yd line and San Diego took over. On the 1st play of their possession, Broncos S John Lynch recorded his 2nd sack and forced fumble of the day. The ball was recovered by Chargers G Shane Olivea who was then tackled in the end zone for a Safety by Broncos DL Demetrin Veal.

4th Quarter:
Denver started their next drive at their own 49 yd line and advanced to the 10 where they were 4th and 5. Broncos K Jason Elam attempted a 28 yd FG but missed wide right.
23 - 7 Broncos Win
With 5 minutes left in the game, Broncos CB Curome Cox intercepted QB Phillip Rivers' pass intended for TE Antonio Gates and returned it 48 yds to the San Diego 34 yd line. A personal foul face mask penalty on Rivers during the return advanced the ball to the 19 yd line. Broncos RB Tatum Bell then ran in his 3rd TD of the game on 1st down. The Chargers went 3 and out on their next possession and Denver ran out the clock to seal the win.
