Game Recap
1st Quarter:
No Score
 Denver opened the game with a 19 yd kickoff return by Mike Bell. They converted on 3rd down but QB Jake Plummer was sacked 3 plays later and the Broncos were forced to punt away their 1st possesion.
3 - 0 Rams lead
 Rams K Jeff Wilkins kicked a 26-yard FG with 3:48 remaining in the quarter. Steven Jackson contributed 31 yards on the drive and Tory Holt and Isaac Bruce contributed 14 and 19 yds respectively.
 On Denver's next possession, Broncos QB Jake Plummer was sacked by Rams DE Leonard Little, who forced a fumble. The ball was recovered at the Denver 3 yd line by Rams LB Pisa Tinoisamoa. Denver's red zone defense stood tall and the Rams were unable to score a TD. Ram's K Jeff Wilkins' FG attempt was no good, bouncing off the right upright.
 On the 1st play of the ensuing Denver possesion, Broncos RB Tatum Bell was hit by Rams LB Will Witherspoon who stripped the ball for Denver's 2nd fumble of the game. The ball was recovered by Rams DB OJ Atogwe at the Denver 34 yd line.
2nd Quarter:

 Rams K Jeff Wilkins kicked a 38-yard FG with 13:27 left in the half.
 The Broncos committed their 3rd turnover in as many possessions on 3rd and 3 when Ram's CB Tye Hill intercepted Broncos QB Jake Plummer.
9 - 0 Rams lead
 Rams K Jeff Wilkins kicked his 3rd FG of the game from 29 yds out after the Broncos defense once again refused to yield a TD.
 Denver then went 3 and out but managed to punt the ball away this time.
12 - 0 Rams lead
 Rams K Jeff Wilkins kicked a 51-yard FG with 5:56 left in the half. Key play: WR Tory Holt 23 yd reception.
 On 4th and 1 at their own 30 yd line, Head Coach Mike Shanahan decided to go for it. Mike Bell took the handoff and ran 2 yds, resulting in the 1st down.
12 - 7 Rams lead
 Denver scored the only TD of the game when RB Mike Bell jumped up and over from 2 yds out. It was his 1st ever NFL TD. Key plays: WR Rod Smith 19 yd reception, RB Mike Bell 14 yd reception, TE Stephen Alexander 19 yd reception.
3rd Quarter:
15 - 7 Rams lead
 Rams K Jeff Wilkins kicked his 5th FG of the game from 48 yds out. Key plays: WR Tory Holt 17 yd reception, RB Steven Jackson 20 yd run.
 Denver gained 39 yds on the next possession before punting it away again. The teams punted back and forth to each other twice more to finish out the 3rd quarter.
4th Quarter:
15 - 10 Rams lead
 Broncos K Jason Elam kicked a 49-yd FG after a 7 play, 34 yd drive. Key Play: WR Javon Walker 18 yd reception.
 The Rams went 3 and out on their next possession and Broncos RB Mike Bell ran for 36 yds on Denver's 1st down play. Broncos QB Jake Plummer then threw his 2nd INT of the game, intended for WR Todd Devoe, but picked off by Rams DB Corey Chavous and returned 17 yds to St Louis' 37 yd line. The Rams were then penalized 12 yds for excessive celebration.
18 - 10 Rams Win
 Rams K Jeff Wilkins set a franchise record with his 6th FG of the game from 24 yds. Key plays: Rams went 4 and out and were forced to punt but Broncos LB Patrick Chukwurah was called for roughing the kicker which gave St Louis another set of downs. A short pass to RB Tony Fisher gave the Rams a 49 yd pickup to help set up the score.
 To seal the Broncos loss, QB Jake Plummer threw his 3rd INT of the day (and his 4th turnover) after marching 52 yds down the field. St. Louis then ran out the clock.
