1st Quarter:

Denver won the toss and elected to receive. On the 3rd play of the game, Broncos QB Jake Plummer was intercepted by Chiefs CB Ty Law and downed at the Denver 46.

Kansas City put up the 1st points of the game with a 24 yd FG by K Lawrence Tynes. Key Plays: WR Eddie Kennison 16 yd reception, WR Dante Hall 10 yd reception.

2nd Quarter:

Kansas City widened their lead with a 1 yd TD run by Chiefs RB Larry Johnson to cap a 13 play, 88 yd drive that took 7:41 off the clock. Plummer threw deep again on the next play and the pass was caught by Broncos WR David Kircus for a 36 yd gain. With the help of WR Rod Smith, the Broncos were set up with a 1st and goal at the 1. Broncos TE Stephen Alexander caught the TD pass to narrow the scoring margin to a FG.

4th Quarter:
