 Denver won the coin toss and elected to receive. After two 1st downs, they punted away their 1st possession. Neither team was able to score in the 1st quarter.
2nd Quarter:

 New England opted to go for it on 4th and 1 at Denver's 37 yd line but they were denied by Broncos DEs Demetrin Veal and Ebaneezer Ekuban.
3 - 0 Broncos lead
 Broncos K Jason Elam put up the 1st points of the game with a 23 yd FG to cap a 59 yd drive. Key Plays: WR David Kircus 36 yds on 2 receptions.
 On their ensuing drive, New England managed to get to the Denver 19 yd line and attempted a FG to tie the score. The kick was blocked by Broncos CB Domonique Foxworth.

 Denver answered with a 32 yd TD pass from Broncos QB Jake Plummer to WR Javon Walker. Key Plays: RB Tatum Bell 30 yds on 4 rushes.
3rd Quarter:
 Both teams defenses stood tall and neither team was able to score during the 3rd quarter.
4th Quarter:
17 - 0 Broncos lead
 On Denver's opening possession of the 4th quarter, Broncos QB Jake Plummer again found WR Javon Walker for a TD reception, this time for 83 yds.
17 - 7 Broncos Win
 New England answered on their next possession with an 8 yd TD pass from Patriots QB Tom Brady to WR Doug Gabriel. The score capped an 10 play, 80 yd no huddle drive. Key Plays: WR Doug Gabriel 18 and 12 yd receptions, RB Laurence Maroney 14 yd reception.
 Both teams punted back and forth for the next 6 minutes. On New England's last drive they again used a no huddle offense and marched 60 yds down the field. On 4th and 1 at the Denver 20 yd line, Patriots QB Tom Brady's pass to WR Troy Brown fell incomplete . The Broncos regained possession and ran out the last 1:04 on the clock to seal the win.
