1st Quarter:
3 - 0 Lions lead
Denver kicked off and gained 5 yds on a short pass to TE Daniel Graham but QB Jay Cutler was sacked on 3rd down, forcing a punt. The Lions put up their 1st points with a 43 yd FG by K Jason Hanson, after eating almost 6 minutes off the clock. Key Plays: RB Kevin Jones 12 yd run, RB T.J. Duckett 19 yd run.

2nd Quarter:
6 - 0 Lions lead
Detroit kicked an onside kick and Denver recovered with excellent field position at the Lions 46 but were able to advance only to the 30 yd line. A 48 yd FG attempt by K Jason Elam hit the left upright and bounced out, leaving the Broncos scoreless. The Lions answered with a 53 yd FG after a 20 yd reception by WR Calvin Johnson boosted a stalled drive.

Cutler was sacked on 2nd and 8 and left the game. Backup QB Patrick Ramsey came in and completed an 18 yd pass to WR Brandon Stokley but the Broncos came up short of mid field and were forced to punt again. The Lions put up their 1st TD with a 15 yd short pass to WR Mike Furrey. Key Plays: WR Roy Williams 21 yd recepion, Johnson 10 yd reception, Furrey 11 yd reception, 15 yd face mask penalty on Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil.

Ramsey completed a pass to WR Brandon Marshall who took it 12 yds but the team fizzled and punted from their own 41. Detroit scored on it's 4th consecutive possession with a 38 yd FG. Key Plays: Johnson and Williams both caught 17 yd receptions.

3rd Quarter:
23 - 0 Lions lead
Detroit went 3 and out for the 1st time and the Broncos answered with a 3 and out of their own. Detroit again went nowhere and offsetting penalties forced a second punt that was fair caught at the Denver 8 yd line. On the 1st play, Ramsey was sacked for a 7 yd loss and fumbled the ball. It was recovered by Lions DE Dewayne White at the 3 and run in for a TD. Broncos T Matt Lepsis was injured on the play.
30 - 0 Lions lead
Denver rallied briefly on the ensuing drive and converted on 3rd down with a 15 yd reception by TE Tony Scheffler and again with a 14 yd reception by Marshall. RB Travis Henry then ran for 7 and 22 yds before getting injured and leaving the game. The drive stalled there at the 4 and they went for it on 4th down but were unable to get the score. Detroit answered with a 49 yd TD on a short pass from QB John Kitna to WR Shaun McDonald.

4th Quarter:
37 - 0 Lions lead
Denver ate 4 minutes off the clock but couldn't get past the Lions 45. Detroit went nowhere and Denver got the ball at their own 26. They drove to the Lions 28 with the help of 10 yd receptions by Scheffler, WR Glenn Martinez and Marshall but on 3rd and 6, Ramsey's pass was intercepted by Lions DT Shaun Rogers who returned it 66 yds for a TD.
44 - 0 Lions lead
To add insult to injury, Scheffler went 6 yds on 1st down but fumbled. The ball was recovered by Lions LB Alex Lewis who returned it 34 yds for another TD. The play was challenged and reversed. Scheffler went 6 yds and fumbled again. Lewis recovered again and was down at the 34. Detroit took advantage of the turnover with a 3 yd TD by Duckett. Key Play: On the previous play, Duckett lost 3 yds then fumbled but recovered and took the ball 24 yds to set up 1st and goal at the 3.
44 - 7 Lions win
The Broncos made a last ditch effort and were able to stave off a shut out with a 2 yd TD pass to Stokley. Detroit challenged the completion but the ruling was upheld. Key Plays: Graham 21 yd reception, Martinez 12 yd reception, defensive pass interference on Lions DB Lamarcus Hicks for 22 yds to set up the 1st and goal at the 2.
Detroit fumbled their ensuing possession and the ball was recovered by Broncos LB D.J. Williams at the Lions 20. Marshall went 15 yds to the 5 yd line and WR Brian Clark caught a 4 yd pass at the 1 where he fumbled and Lions DB Idrees Bashir recovered for a touchback. Detroit kneeled for the final play of the game.
