1st Quarter:
7 - 0 Broncos lead
The Broncos opened the game with 1st possession and took the ball all the way to the end zone with a 26 yd TD pass from QB Jay Cutler to rookie WR Eddie Royal. Key Plays: Royal 16 yd reception, WR Brandon Stokley 13 yd reception.
The Broncos kicked off and Raiders WR Johnnie Lee Higgins ran it back 58 yds to set up Oakland's 1st drive on the Broncos 35. They managed to get to the 7 where Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell fumbled and the ball was recovered by Broncos DE Ebenezer Ekuban at the 17. The Broncos got to the 38 where a 1st down ruling was challenged by Oakland and overturned, setting up 4th and 1 and a punt.

2nd Quarter:
10 - 0 Broncos lead
Oakland went nowhere and punted back to Denver. On 2nd and 6, Broncos TE Tony Scheffler took the ball 72 yds to the 4 on a deep pass from Cutler. On the next play, Royal was in the end zone again but the TD was nullified by an illegal formation penalty. Denver settled for a 26 yd FG off the foot of K Matt Prater.

Denver scored their 2nd TD with a 3 yd run up the middle by RB Michael Pittman. Key Plays: Royal 11 and 23 yd receptions, both with 15 extra yds attached because of unnecessary roughness penalties on DeAngelo Hall (late hits).

3rd Quarter:
24 - 0 Broncos lead
Oakland started out the 2nd half with the ball but managed to get only to Denver's 38 yd line. Denver started their next drive at their own 8 but took only 5 plays to get into the end zone again, this time with a 48 yd reception by WR Darrell Jackson. Royal contributed a 29 yd catch and RB Andre Hall contributed a 10 yd run.

The Raiders never made it past their own 16 with the help of another unnecessary roughness penalty, this time on G Paul McQuistan. The Broncos tacked on 3 more with a 43 yd Prater FG. Key Plays: Cutler 11 yd scramble, Hall 16 yd run.

4th Quarter:
27 - 7 Broncos lead
Denver allowed the 1st opposing points of the game with an 8 yd TD reception by former Bronco WR Ashley Lelie. A defensive pass interference penalty was called on Denver but was declined. Lelie had a 22 yd reception earlier in the drive along with a 12 yd reception by RB Justin Fargas and a 24 yd reception by FB Justin Griffith to set up the Raiders score.
34 - 7 Broncos lead
Denver answered quickly with a 5 yd TD run by RB Selvin Young. In addition to an 18 yd reception by Royal, the Raiders gave up 30 more yds in penalties, unnecessary roughness on DB Gibril Wilson and a face mask on DE Jay Richardson.
41 - 7 Broncos lead
The Raiders went 9 yds and were faced with 4th and 1 at their own 22. They opted to go for it but the Broncos stopped them for a loss of 4, setting up excellent field position on the Raider 18. Six plays later Pittman was in the end zone again, this time with a 1 yd TD.
41 - 14 Broncos Win
The Raiders scored with one last effort on a 4 yd TD pass to WR Ronald Curry following a 9 play, 78 yd drive. Key Plays: Fargas 42 yd run, TE Zach Miller 21 yd reception. Denver got the ball back with 1:34 remaining and knelt out the clock.
